Isaiah 49:13 is a verse that reflects the life story of Arveth O'Donnell: "Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted."

She started singing and dancing at the tender age of six when her father, a part-time musician, enrolled her in dancing lessons. She found she loved the stage! She loved performing and bringing joy to audiences across the country.

Her favorite memory is singing for soldiers during the war. She knew these men were far from home, facing loneliness, pain, hunger, and fear; and she felt honored to be able to offer them an hour or two of music and joy. "God has been good to me," she says. "I have much to be thankful for."

Today we're thankful that Arveth has joined us at Providence Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center of Downers Grove. Her grateful attitude and joyful spirit make her a blessing to staff as well as fellow residents!
