Marian Ladewig
She took up bowling at the age of 22, and by 35 she had won her first of seven professional titles! Marian Ladewig was something of a national celebrity during the 1950s, well-known as a bowler and female athlete.
Her new career gave her opportunities to travel the United States, Europe, and Australia — all from her home base in Grand Rapids, Michigan. When she finally retired from professional bowling, she became part owner of a bowling alley in Grand Rapids, and she kept bowling at least three times a week.
Today a smile still brightens Marian’s face when she thinks of her life on the lanes. She’s a joy to talk to, and we love sharing life with her at Emerald Meadows!
