Sam Spiekhout likes to joke about how rough-around-the-edges he is — but this former sheet-metal worker, gas station owner, and real estate agent has developed a full complement of people skills, job knowledge, and creative thinking abilities that make him a lot of fun to spend time with.

Sam lives at Holland Home, which shares a campus with Providence of South Holland, where Sam's wife Marge is currently receiving care. Sam walks the path every day to spend time with his wife, and with other friends and fellow Cubs fans.

When asked how he ended up marrying Marge, Sam shakes his head, smiles, and shrugs, "She's a great lady... I guess I caught her at a weak moment!"
