Annual Report / Torchlight 2011
Jesus tells us in John 10:10, "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." God wants abundant life for us, and one of the ways He makes that possible is by placing us in community with each other.Throughout Scripture, God expresses special concern for widows and orphans, that is, people whose options and resources are limited. The Christian community represented at Torchlight becomes a family to widows and widowers, and to people whose own families are far away. By creating and supporting ministries like Providence Life Services, we extend God's abundance to people who otherwise would not have it. Over the past five decades of ministry, people's needs have changed, and Providence has responded in new ways with new forms of service. No matter what form our service takes, our original ministry calling remains close to our hearts. We still help families who need help, and we still help people who have no other family. Each year's Torchlight is a celebration of that mission, and of the faithful God who has called us to it. Out of His abundance, we are able to bless others abundantly. "I have come that they may have life, and
that they may have it more abundantly." - JOHN 10:10
