A Welcome From Our Leadership

Welcome to Emerald Meadows. We're glad you’ve stopped by, and we hope you’ll stay a while to get to know us better.

While we know you’ll get a good idea of Emerald Meadows from these web pages, we’d love for you to come for a visit so you can see for yourself how much we can offer you and your family. We have nursing staff on campus 24/7, which you may not find at other Assisted Living communities in the area, but it is part of our commitment to the well-being of our residents and the comfort of their families.

If you’re looking for Assisted Living, we think you’ll like our apartments, and you may even be able to see the different ways our residents have decorated to make their homes unique. You can stop by and talk to one of our healthcare professionals and ask about specific aspects of care to feel more at ease about what we offer. Maybe you’ll even see our beauty shop in action, where so many residents receive salon treatments from our haircare professionals. And if you’re looking for a Memory Care program where someone you love will be treated with dignity and respect, while also having activities designed for their cognitive challenges, you’ll find that here at Emerald Meadows.

When you visit, you’re likely to see some visitors, as our residents’ families are here often, and play a big part in our daily lives. We open our doors to you, and hope we’ll be a good fit for your needs, so you can be a part of our extended community, because we truly are a family.

Thanks for stopping by!

Community Manager

Rick VandenBerg

Rick VandenBerg came to lead Emerald Meadows in 2021, but he had been an administrator at another Providence Life Services sister community for an additional 4 years. He is a Registered Nurse and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator with over 30 years of experience in healthcare, first as a CNA, then RN, and moving into management. He truly has a well-rounded view of working in senior living and healthcare, which is what makes his ability to lead unique.

“Emerald Meadows is a small community with a big heart for older adults,” he says. “Everyone strives to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. In my opinion, no other provider comes close to the quality of care provided by a Providence community.”

Rick and his wife (also a nurse) have been married for over 25 years, and they have two daughters and a cat (who runs the home). When Rick isn’t at Emerald Meadows, he enjoys walks with his wife, camping, bowling, and a great cup of coffee. He says, “Everything that we do should be done with Jesus in mind, body, and spirit. For me, it inspires me to do everything to my very best, and to know that what we do is more than just a job or a role; it’s truly a mission and a calling.”
