In 1960, after faithful prayer and planning, a new nursing home opened in the Chicago area. Providence of Palos Heights (known as Rest Haven at the time) would serve elderly church members who needed more care than their families or churches could provide.
That first facility opened with 50 beds and was immediately full. By 1962, we were already raising funds to double our capacity. By 1967, we had expanded to serve 193 seniors.
Providence of Palos Heights is accredited by the Joint Commission, an independent organization that works to ensure quality healthcare across the nation. We continue to offer compassionate skilled nursing care. But most of our clients come to Providence Healthcare & Rehabilitation Services of Palos Heights for subacute rehab. We offer Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy from licensed experts. Each year we serve more than 700 people who return home again stronger than when they arrived.
