TINLEY PARK, Ill. (March 2016) — Each year, we honor outstanding employees in an event called “Hallmark of Caring.” Providence people in various jobs are nominated by their co-workers, our residents, or residents’ families for their efforts throughout the year. This year’s 74 honorees live out our mission to “enhance the lives of those we serve in the name of Jesus Christ,” and demonstrate excellence in skill, work ethic, and compassion.

Honorees from Park Place of Elmhurst:
Stephanie James, CNA – Skilled
Stephanie is extremely compassionate and always has a positive attitude. She makes an extra effort, like coming in early to shampoo a resident’s hair because they cannot extend their head in the shampoo bowl in the salon. She also shows initiative by leading restorative exercises with our residents.
Angela Bianchi, CNA – Skilled
“When Angela’s here, you know it’s going to be a good day.” This was said by a client who has a great appreciation for her. That’s because Angela is always cheerful, takes pride in her work and cares about people. She is the epitome of someone who deserves the Hallmark of Caring award.

Darleen is a prodigious worker who is capable of doing her work efficiently. She is compatible with all of her co-workers and her communication skills are incredible!
JoAnne DiCanio, Healthcare Concierge
JoAnne has a pleasant greeting and a cheerful attitude. She is very knowledgeable and always makes the time to address questions and needs of residents, family members and staff. JoAnne is exceptional and has a personal interest in the wellbeing of the residents that shows every day!
Mirna Cabrera, Housekeeper
Mirna is very pleasant and professional and she willingly accepts additional responsibilities. Residents have commented on how clean she keeps their room, and have noted that she is a happy and hard worker. Mirna is very considerate of residents and deeply cares about them.
Whitney Price, CNA – Assisted Living
Whitney is always willing to help everyone she works with. She finds the best in everyone and every situation. Her smile is contagious and her coworkers enjoy working with her very much. Whitney is a wonderful CNA; she takes her job very seriously and is greatly appreciated.
Kristine Walker, Administrative Assistant
Kristine is always smiling. She is faithful in assisting the residents to the best of her ability. Kristine is upbeat and patient with the residents and is always willing to learn new things. She is a very kind person and we are blessed to have her here.
Erik Lodewyck, Janitorial
Erik is always kind and friendly to the residents. He keeps the floor looking amazing at all times and we all appreciate that! He is polite and has a smile on his face whenever we see him. Erik is a hard worker and a very good person.
Dorothy Frerichs, Life Enrichment Assistant
Dorothy is very professional and caring. She is always great to the residents. Dorothy shows a personal concern for my health, interests, schedule and well-being. She is simply wonderful and we are very lucky to have her as part of the team.
Tess Racines, LPN
Tess is a very caring nurse: patient and kind to the residents and attentive to their needs. She has excellent follow-through and customer service. Families, residents and staff all appreciate her and love that she is here.
Lupe Brito, Sous Chef
Lupe worked hard to improve food quality, making menu changes which pleasantly surprised the residents. He put in long hours, adjusted his schedule and put off vacation time until the necessary staff was place. “In a bacon and egg breakfast, the chicken is a participant, but the pig is committed,” and so is Lupe!
Arlyn Palomores, RN
Arlyn is a compassionate and dependable nurse. She has a good rapport with patients and families. Arlyn is responsible and always willing to help the nurses and CNAs. She is a welcome addition to our team.
Craig Kinsey, Janitorial
Craig is eager to help whenever he is asked. Even if the request comes as his shift is ending, Craig’s response is “Thanks for telling me.” Residents comment on how patient he is with them as he explains how to use an appliance or work the thermostat. He always has a positive attitude and truly enjoys working here.

Hyun is a very compassionate, encouraging individual. She is a wonderful person to have on our team. Hyun is always smiling and goes above and beyond her work duties to ensure the residents are always happy with their dining experience.
Jane Dennis, Dining Server
Jane is always pleasant, very accommodating, respectful, and detail oriented and, she anticipates the needs of our residents. Jane is the perfect example of “service with a smile”. She always provides a smooth, relaxing dining experience for residents and their guests. Her positive attitude is contagious!
Jordyn Beck, Resident Aide
Jordyn goes beyond the call of duty for each resident. She demonstrates a spirit of caring as she displays affection and devotion to the residents she cares for. Jordyn’s approach is tender and it is very clear that she holds the residents dear to her heart. She is always encouraging and kindhearted.

Marisela is a dedicated team member; no job is too mundane or trivial for her. She takes her role very seriously and always does an A+ job! Marisela is thorough and detailed as she approaches her job tasks. She is always pleasant, cheerful and smiles!

Deb Hannemann, Life Enrichment Assistant
Deb is so kind; she’s great with the residents and employees! Deb is willing to step up to the plate and help out when the Life Enrichment department needs an extra hand.
Lucy Kuharchuk, Housekeeper
Lucy jumped into her new position with both feet! She’s kind and hardworking and is always there to greet you with a smile, rain or shine. The residents love her and always compliment her work ethic and attitude. She’s a great housekeeper who is positive and upbeat.
Caitlin Miller, LPN
Caitlin is one of the hardest working nurses I know. Her love, passion, and dedication to the residents really embrace Providence’s mission. She demonstrates leadership in raising the bar for nursing standards. Caitlin always presents a solution for a problem and practices with a calm, confident manner.
Melissa Posey, Dining Room Server
Melissa is a humble perfectionist. She is sweet and always has a kind word for others. Melissa is a good server who cares about the residents and makes it a point to serve them promptly.

Jenny is incredibly bright and personable. She anticipates what residents may want and does not hesitate to meet their requests. She’s not afraid of a challenge and is always willing to lend a hand. Her leadership, people skills, and motivation are of a caliber that cannot be taught. She is a delight to have on staff.

Victoria is a dependable caregiver and takes everything in stride. When you have a request, she never makes you feel like you are asking too much of her. She does her job well.
Melissa Laging, Lead CNA
Melissa shows sincere compassion for her residents on a daily basis. On picnic day last summer, she went from room to room to ensure all of her residents looked perfect for their families. This is an example of caring in action.

Arianna is one of the most efficient nurses I have ever met! She not only gets her work done in a timely manner, but ALWAYS has a smile on her face for everyone she meets. She delivers quality care to her residents.

Virginia Munroe, Dining Services
Virginia really cares about our clients and ensures that they all eat well and get great service. She takes exceptional care of our clients in the dining room. Virginia is very particular about how the dining room looks so our clients and their guests always have a pleasant dining experience.
Kimberly Carr, Social Services
Kim keeps a smile on her face and does a great job for the patients, families, and other staff even though the Social Service department is very busy. We appreciate her efforts and thank her for them.
Wendi Mattheisen, Housekeeping
Wendi is always on the go and never stops moving. She completes laundry tasks promptly and accurately and is very conscientious about linen supply and inventory. Wendi is very hard working and flexible, going wherever she is needed.
Miranda Deuter, Life Enrichment
Miranda is sweet and helpful, and the residents and families often compliment her. She leads activity groups that are interesting and get residents involved. She shared her music talents with the clients at Christmas. Miranda is an active listener who is focused on the mission of Providence.
Jerrietta Cole, CNA
Jerrietta treats clients well and shows complete dedication to her work. She is always on time and never calls off. We can count on Jerrietta to pick up empty spots in the schedule.
Yashica (Shaun) Gilliam, CNA
Shaun does all the little things that make a difference. She’s a master at what she does. Shaun is attentive and responsive, giving exceptional tender loving care to my mom each day as if she was attending to her own mom. Thank you Shaun!

Rosemary Onan, Housekeeping Rose is a valued housekeeper who is consistent, dependable and displays strong work values. She demonstrates a pleasant, cheerful disposition and is positive and friendly to residents, family members and staff. She is committed to excellence and promptly responds to requests. Sally Kreuze, Housekeeping
Sally has been a faithful housekeeper here for almost 25 years! Although the size of our community has more than doubled since she started, she does a great job keeping every nook and cranny clean! Visitors and residents alike call Royal Park Place “Dutch Clean”…really it’s just “Sally Clean”!
Jessica Bowen, Assistant Cook/Server
Jessica is very helpful and caring. One resident wrote, “She helps me with my menus,” while another added, “She brings me breakfast in the morning and calls me “darling.” Thank you, Jessica, for these special touches.
