Mom’s doctor suggested “Assisted Living.”
Now it’s up to you to figure out what that means.
What is Assisted Living? It’s senior housing that includes some nursing care and other supportive services. As a member of LeadingAge and the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), Providence is part of the movement to promote excellence in senior living. We advocate for accessibility, independence, dignity, and choice for seniors. Providence Assisted Living communities offer the services people need to stay safe and healthy, in an atmosphere that promotes as much independence as possible.
Juanita loves Assisted Living
In fact, at 90 years old, a woman named Juanita discovered how freeing it could be to have a little help. After her husband’s death, she moved into a Providence Assisted Living facility and started a new life full of new adventures. You can read her story in her own words:
Bernie’s not too proud to ask for help
Or learn from Bernie, an 86-year-old man who has no problem admitting he needs more help than he used to. “As you grow older, you need help, that’s all,” he says.
