Meet Our Chef

Jef Koert, our Dining Services Director, came to work at Royal Park Place and Royal Atrium Inn in 2018 through Creative Dining Services. This talented chef has owned and operated two different restaurants for 35 years before joining our Royal family, and he has worked within the school systems and with other senior communities.

Jef gets to know the residents, and says, “I befriended a lovely resident that inspired me to move to all homemade pies.” It’s clear he enjoys serving our residents, and says he enjoys providing them “quality, nutritious food, flavors, and fun.” He certainly has been doing that, as he has started many fun traditions around our community:

Betty’s Pie Pantry: Bi-weekly, the dining team makes homemade pies for the residents to choose from for dessert.

The Treat Trolley: Jef goes up and down the halls, playing ice cream truck songs, and residents come out of their rooms for ice cream cones.

Casserole Mondays: This supper club invites residents to eat and socialize in the evenings.

Jef and his team have also held themed events, such as Greatest Showman Circus and an Old-Fashioned Malt Shoppe.

When Jef is not enriching lives here, he loves spending time with his family. He and his wife have 4 kids and 17 grandchildren, and currently share their home with two cats.
