Support for Those Who Served—And Their Loved Ones

At Victorian Village, we proudly support those who served our country. The VA Aid and Attendance Pension Benefit offers financial assistance to eligible veterans and their surviving spouses, helping offset the cost of senior living, caregiving, or nursing home services. If you or a loved one is considering Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Skilled Nursing this benefit could provide crucial support.

Victorian Village: A Community that Honors Service

Nestled in the quiet charm of Homer Glen, Victorian Village is more than a senior living community—it’s a place where veterans are celebrated, respected, and supported.

Our serene setting, dedicated care team, and close-knit environment provide the peace and purpose many former service members seek in their next chapter.

Residents enjoy thoughtfully designed floor plans that offer both comfort and accessibility, along with a vibrant lifestyle filled with engaging activities, social connections, and personalized care. We tailor our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing  services to meet each resident's unique needs.

Many have found that their medical needs qualify them for the VA Aid and Attendance benefit, making care even more accessible for veterans and their spouses.

How These Benefits Support You

Many families are surprised to learn that the Aid and Attendance benefit can provide up to $2,795/month, or up to $25,000/year, to help cover the cost of care for veterans—including Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Skilled Nursing at Victorian Village.

Yet, only about 1 in 4 eligible seniors apply—often due to lack of awareness or confusion over the process.

We’re here to help you understand your options and navigate the path toward quality care with the support you deserve.

Eligibility At a Glance

You don’t need to have served overseas or seen combat to qualify. Veterans must:

  • Be eligible for the basic VA pension
  • Have served at least 90 days of active duty, with one day during a wartime period
  • Have received an honorable discharge

Medical criteria include the need for help with daily living activities (e.g., bathing or dressing), being bedridden, living in a nursing facility, or having impaired vision.

Financial eligibility considers income, assets (excluding home and car), and medical expenses. Many unreimbursed care costs, like Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Skilled Nursing may reduce your countable income.
