Executive Vice President for Ministry Advancement

Rick VanDyken

Rick VanDyken serves as Executive Vice President for Ministry Advancement at Providence Life Services. After three years on the Board of Directors, he stepped into an advancement role with Providence before later accepting a position as Vice President of Development at Providence Christian College in California. When he learned of Scott’s upcoming retirement, Rick felt called to return, and we welcome him back to continue the mission he has long supported.

Rick brings more than 20 years of experience in mission advancement at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights. His background also includes financial management work at Rehoboth Christian School among the Navajo people in New Mexico and at Hillcrest School in Jos, Nigeria. He has served on the boards of Southwest Chicago Christian School, Roseland Christian School, and Christian Reformed World Missions.

Rick holds a B.S. in Business Management from Trinity Christian College and an M.A. in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Rick and his wife, Sue, attend New Life Christian Reformed Church in New Lenox. They have four married adult children and eight grandchildren, with a ninth on the way. He is passionate about resourcing Christian ministries and supporting Providence Life Services as it serves seniors in the name of Jesus Christ.

William (Bill) De Young providence life services CEO

William (Bill) De Young

Bill DeYoung has been a dedicated leader at Providence Life Services for nearly 30 years, culminating in being named CEO in 2025. He began his journey with the organization in 1995 as Chief Financial Officer, bringing a wealth of financial expertise and a passion for mission-driven work. Over the years, Bill has taken on increasingly pivotal roles, including serving as Chief Operations Officer for the past eight years. Bill will take on the role of President and CEO in January 2025, continuing his commitment to serving the residents, staff, and communities of Providence.

Bill’s contributions extend beyond the walls of Providence. He has served as Chair of the LeadingAge Illinois State Association and has been a critical advocate for senior care initiatives through his work on various boards and committees. Bill was a founding leader of Caring Communities, a nonprofit insurance collective that has grown to include over 80 organizations and returns more than $100 million in dividends to its members. His ability to foster collaboration and bring innovative solutions has solidified his reputation as a leader in the aging services field.

Bill and his wife, Kathy, have three adult children and are active members of Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park. Guided by his faith, Bill is deeply committed to ensuring that Providence Life Services continues to honor God through its mission of enhancing the lives of those it serves.
