We know nothing is more important than the trust between our patients and their caregivers, so Providence is committed to safe staffing ratios, allowing each patient to receive the personalized care and attention they deserve. Our short-term rehabilitation facilities consistently rank among the best-staffed in the nation for both nurse aides and RNs, according to CMS reports.
Joint Commission accreditation is not mandatory for short-term rehabilitation centers, but Providence appreciates the commitment to quality that The Joint Commission’s standards represent, so we gladly apply. Each of our Providence facilities have earned the Joint Commission’s prestigious Gold Seal of Approval, along with an additional Post-Acute Care Certification, recognizing our effective care transitions and prevention of unnecessary hospitalizations.
Our care staff, social service teams, therapists, and providers work together towards a common goal of returning our patients to home quickly and safely. Thanks to this teamwork, each of our short-term rehabilitation facilities consistently earn 4- and 5-star rankings by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Park Place Health & Wellness Center of St. John and Park Place Health & Wellness Center of Elmhurst have been recognized for their skilled nursing care as a Best Nursing Home for 2021-22 by U.S. News & World Report.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. That’s why all of our Providence short-term rehabilitaiton facilities have been certified by Vohra Wound Physicians as Centers of Excellence for Wound Management. Our clinical team has undergone specialized training to prevent and treat all types of chronic and complex wound and skin issues, reducing the need to send our patients out to wound care centers or hospitals.
We value the hard work of our team members through a supportive environment, flexible scheduling, a generous benefits package, and opportunities to advance their careers. And in return, our employees are loyal to Providence – with a lower staff turnover rate than other organizations in our industry.
Since the start of the pandemic, we’ve taken our responsibility to our staff and our short-term rehabilitation patients seriously. We’ve made sure to provide our teams with all the necessary tools and equipment to keep themselves, their patients, and their loved ones safe from the virus. Together we’re continuing the fight, with COVID-19 vaccination rates for both patients and staff above the national averages.
What truly sets Providence apart is our faith-based, non-profit mission. Our call is to serve each individual “in the name of Jesus Christ,” and we do that by investing in our staff and our patients, not shareholders. With a chaplain on every campus, our patients get the support and encouragement they need.
