Lifelong Learning Came to Life at Park Place of Elmhurst

At Park Place of Elmhurst, learning never faded with time. It grew. This January, that spirit took center stage as the community served as a remote host site for Calvin University’s January Series, an award-winning lecture program that brought nationally recognized speakers to audiences across the country.
For residents, it was an opportunity to stay curious and connected during one of the quietest months of the year. Each lecture offered something new to explore, whether it was creativity, public health, storytelling, or the questions shaping our culture. Instead of tuning in alone, residents gathered in a welcoming space, watched together, and enjoyed the kind of conversations that only happened when people shared ideas side by side.
Hosting the January Series highlighted something core to Park Place: the belief that learning does not stop at any age. It gave residents the chance to continue engaging with big ideas, challenge their perspectives, and discover fresh inspiration. For the broader Elmhurst community, it opened the door to enriching experiences right in the neighborhood.
Here, lifelong learning was not just encouraged. It was lived, every day, in ways both meaningful and joyful.
