They Keep You Very Busy
For Joan, life at Victorian Village is full of activity. “There’s always a lot going on here,” she shares, reflecting on the community that has become a home and a place where they truly belong for her and her husband over the past year.
Joan grew up near 47th and Pulaski, building a life rooted in family and familiarity. When she moved to Victorian Village, her husband was initially at another location. However, he eventually transferred to the community because he needed something that was only available there. Being together under one roof again brought comfort, and Joan would visit him in Memory Care until she later transitioned there herself.
Now, they both embrace the rhythm of daily life at Victorian Village, where the diverse activities and social opportunities keep them engaged. “They keep you very busy,” she says with a smile. Whether participating in events, enjoying time with other residents, or simply being part of a warm and welcoming environment, Joan and her husband have found a place where they feel connected and cared for.
Her husband is also staying active through therapy with Symbria, working to maintain his strength and mobility with the unwavering and dedicated support of the staff.
After a year at Victorian Village, Joan is grateful for the care, companionship, and sense of community they have found. “It’s home now,” she says. With so much to do and so many people to share it with, it’s a place where they not just live but thrive—together.
