May 14, 2011 – A lot of work goes into the annual Tasty Treats sale, fundraiser by The Ladies Circle of the Holland Home. Auxiliary members and their spouses, along with a few extra hands, spend hours mixing and frying dough for olie bollen, a traditional Dutch treat, which sell by the dozens to eager crowds. Other sweets – including banket, a Dutch pastry – are also hand-made and arranged on tables for the sale. Following a morning of frantic activity and friendly profits, workers and customers enjoy a lunch of sloppy joes, chips, beverages, and dessert.
