What is Memory Care?

Memory Care is a senior living option that provides specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s care for older adults.
At Providence Life Services, our Memory Care programs help residents and their families navigate the journey of dementia. The care is based on the latest scientific knowledge and a broad review of industry best practices. Yet it is the compassion that marks all our interactions that truly sets our Memory Care communities apart.
Your family member will receive all the social and dining benefits of Assisted Living, along with the additional support that allows you to step back and simply be their son, daughter, or spouse again, knowing we will take care of their medical needs in a compassionate, secure environment that offers peace of mind for families.
Memory Care includes all the basic services, plus:
- Higher staff ratios to allow additional time for cueing and completing tasks
- Knowledgeable, experienced, and compassionate staff trained in Alzheimer’s and dementia care
- Medication setup, management, and reminders
- Medication administration by a licensed professional
- Routines that reduce anxiety and confusion
Beyond these essentials, Memory Care is about creating a safe and secure environment where your loved one can thrive. Our communities feature secure entrances and thoughtfully designed spaces that balance independence with safety. Daily routines provide structure and comfort, while personalized care plans and life-enrichment activities—such as music, art, light exercise, and outdoor time—support cognitive health and emotional well-being.
Our caregivers have developed an intuitive ability to understand the emotional challenges associated with memory issues, enabling them to craft personalized programs that address each person’s needs socially, spiritually, and creatively. Families are as involved as they choose to be, with opportunities for caregiver support groups, educational resources, and care conferences to keep you informed and connected.
We understand that we can’t replace your role in your loved one’s life, but by taking on some of the responsibilities, we enable you to return to being the child or spouse you want to be. The result is an improved quality of life for individuals with memory disorders and their families.
At Providence, we focus on the person, not the disease. Our goal is to create moments of dignity, joy, and connection every single day within our faith-based continuum of care.
